Just finished up the sermon series entitled, “God’s Way Still Works: Dating, Marriage and Sex.” I must say, this series has been rewarding and challenging for me personally. I just believe, it is imperative that the Church begin to address the unhealthy relationships that exist in our pews and pulpits.
In the African American community AIDS/HIV is the leading cause of death for African American women between the ages of 21-39. African Americans lead or come close to leading predominately every negative category as it pertains to sexual transmitted diseases. Only 15% of all African American children are born in a household with both parents. These statistics and others are the results of man refusing to do things God’s way.
The people of Christ cannot shy away from our responsibility to proclaim an unpopular message in this modern “Sodom and Gomorrah – self centered – devilish – anti God – Dr. Phil/Oprah humanistic – sensualistic – drop it like it’s hot – apple bottom wearing era” that we live in. I contend to you, that God’s precepts are not outdated, but will and still work in a day like ours.
I pray that this series has been a blessing to you. I realize that the seven sermons only scratched the surface, but I’m grateful to see how the Holy Spirit is working in the hearts of the people at the Mount!
Sermon #1 – What Eve Received From God
Sermon #2 – What Adam Received From God
Sermon #3 – Man Gone Wild
Sermon #4 – What They Didn’t Tell Me About Sex
Sermon #5 – The Vicious Circle Of Sexual Promiscuity
Sermon #6 – Before You Say, “I Do” To Your Boo! Pt. 1
Sermon #7 – Before You Say, “I Do” To Your Boo! Pt. 2

I enjoyed the series from beginning to end. Those statistics are horrific bu true. I too have children out of wedlock from not doing things God’s way. But its refreshing to know that it’s not too late. The enemy would like us to believe that since we started off the wrong way that it’s too late too correct it. Not so. From this sermon series, I have learned the correct order for relationships to prosper. Thank you Pastor for allowing God to use you and addressing this topic in out church.
Pastor,
I want to think you for taking on this controversial subject line from the pulpit. I know my family & I were moved by the each one of the entire series. Even being married for over 30 years your message from God will help me to be a better husband & father to my children.
God Bless,
Dennis Morgan
This series has help me so much. Thru this series of sermons questions were answered that I’ve had for years and because of this God has began to tear down the walls that I’ve had built up for years and he is beginning to heal me the right way.
Thank you for allowing the Holy Spirit to speak thru you to give us this word. I can’t speak for anyone else but I really needed this
I have been so truly blessed through this series. I am sadden to see it come to an end especially when you are just beginning to deal with marriage. I have learned so much and have been convicted and healed and challenged. My children have come home and asked questions and we have talked in depth about the sermons (not because I’m ramming it but because they have been so blessed by it). I have never heard the area of marriage being preached from the pulpit with such a real balance that you were able to do. I thank God for you allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you. I just wish you could do one more section of marriage since we only got two weeks out of the series (smile). Thank you so much for being obedient to the Holy Spirit. It has change the life of our entire family. I only wish I would have known all this years ago!
I Loved the series I am going to buy quite a few cds n dvds for my family members. I think that they will benefit from these series greatly. I gotta get one for myself too. It’s tight but its right
Keep on preaching the truth! As I have said in the past and I say again, we need champions for the LORD and His truths!! We need to hear the truth from God how He wants us to live and not what we think. I love Biblical truths – they enable me to grow towards maturity.

This series has challenged me in many areas. I must admit that knowing the Holy Spirit goes with me everywhere kept me from being out of place as a child of God during my undergraduate years. But as years went by and the “biological clock” got louder and louder, I decided to help God out. Needless to say, that didn’t work.
So now I am dealing with the consequences…THANK GOD FOR FORGIVENESS AND ANOTHER CHANCE. My greatest challenge is when the rubber meets the road…Which street will I go down….God’s way or mine?…..I better buy the CD’s! When is the book coming out? I need it in my library:-)
My family and I really learned alot from this series. I never thought of the fact that our marriage covenant is to God as well as our spouses and that we should treat them good because of our covenant with God. This is a series that alot of people would benefit from after hearing it, especially the young people who still have time to make good choices. This series has touched me in so many ways.
Do you know what was even more of a blessing…..my son asked me to purchase the entire series (I did) and now he is lending the cd\’s out to his friends to listen too…so the blessing is still flowing…thank you Pastor.
